1836 – 1927
Jonas and Betty Wollman were early settlers in Leavenworth, Kansas and known for their anti-slavery views. Born as Betty Kohn in the Czech Republic, she met Jonas in St. Louis. Betty moved to New York after her husband’s death, living there until her death in 1927.
The Wollmans are the great-grandparents of Henry and Richard Bloch, founders of H & R Block.
