Belated Beltane Spring Celebration – From the Ground We Come

Gerald Trimble and Jambaroque bring cutting edge music performed on rare and historic instruments to the beautiful Armour Chapel in Elmwood Cemetery.

Usually presented in early May, this year’s program is an early evening event on the grounds of this historic cemetery. Focusing on the music of our Celtic roots, the ground is a double metaphor for where our ancestors rest, and the bass lines of the baroque era, with African and Moorish origins, which are the foundation for much of the music of Scotland, Ireland, England and America. We will explore these connections with our usual variety of cultural musical connections. Joining us in songs with lovely harmonies will be special guest, Rebecca Pryor.

This event honors the memory of Dave Brown, an early founder of the KC regional Celtic music community, who is interred at Elmwood Cemetery. All proceeds to benefit the preservation of the cemetery.
