Kansas City’s historic Elmwood Cemetery celebrates its 154th Memorial Day weekend Saturday, May 23rd – 25th, 2026. Elmwood, will open at 8:00am throughout the holiday weekend, and remain open until 6:30pm each day.
Memorial Day Monday, May 26th, 2025, Elmwood will offer several special events and services.
9:00AM – Raising of the American flag by the ROTC of East High School. Veterans and their families are encouraged to attend this ceremony.
9:30AM – Interfaith remembrance service in the Armour Memorial Chapel. The services will be led by several area clergy, including Cantor Sharon Kohn of B’nai Jehudah and Pastor Donna Simon of St. Mark Hope and Peace Lutheran Church.
Volunteers will be on hand 9:00 to 4:00 each day to answer questions and assist with grave location.
We encourage families, neighbors and friends of Elmwood to come join us during this special holiday.
